Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In Gosaiaber village, Panskura, former Medinipur district, a child’s suicide has led to unrest affecting the family of a local businessman. The businessman’s house, located near the site, was vandalized last night. Windows were broken and a submersible water pipe was damaged, according to villagers. Following the incident, police have been deployed outside the businessman’s residence since last night to maintain security.
The businessman involved is also a civic volunteer in the area. Villagers expressed anger over the incident and the subsequent vandalism. Police are actively monitoring the situation to prevent further disturbances. The community remains tense as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death and the damage caused to the businessman’s property.
CCTV footage related to the case showed that the child had written a letter to his mother denying any theft. The footage also shows the child picking up a packet of chips that was lying beneath the businessman’s shop, disproving allegations that the child stole the packet. Police are reviewing all evidence as they continue their investigation into the incident.
